You will find my commented list of links to most of the Official Expedition sites in the inofficial Trans-Global Balloon Race that took place during the end of the 1990's (32K) and is going on still in the Summer of 2002 with the Steve Fossett solo project - his sixth attempt.
We who believe in the Lighter-Than-Air system to conquer the skies are also happy at this time that there is new genuine Zeppelins in the air. LZ N 07 made a maiden voyage on September 18th, 1997, sailing over the Lake Constance. In August, 2001, the first paying passengers flew on a sister ship, commercial tourist traffic in the area planned for the whole Autumn. 300 trips are planned - ticket price is around USD 300 for one hour in the air. Every seat available this year is already booked.
Also, LZ N 07 made impressive demonstration flights at the Le Bourget Air Show of June, 2001. It arrived daily on schedule to make a landing and being parked on the ground unassisted before taking off again.
